If you have developed a good understanding of the Pilates fundamentals on the Reformer and are ready for a greater challenge, coordination and more continuous movement, this is the class for you.
Using the Reformer, Wunda Chair or a combination of both, Progressions keeps the class moving while continuing to give individual guidance. Although modifications are always offered, Progressions is an efficient and fun class where we focus on smoother transitions, greater coordination and increased pace, so you continue to refine control and full-body integration.
Progressions Class is best suited for you, if: (please read before booking)
You already understand the fundamental Pilates cues and basic terminology.
You are familiar with the Reformer and can confidently adjust your springs, footbar and position when instructed.
You can usually move from one exercise to the next on the Reformer without needing frequent reminders.
You feel confident changing positions and moving around on the Reformer.
You can maintain good control of the carriage throughout most exercises.
You are comfortable working at a more continuous pace with smoother transitions and fewer pauses.
You are ready for greater coordination, challenge and progression within your Pilates practice.
If you are new to Pilates or the Reformer, please begin with Foundations.
If you have recent Reformer experience but have done less than roughly 10-14 classes I recommend at least one Bridge class first. If you have previous Reformer Pilates experience, but have had a several months break I recommend booking at least one Foundations class first.
Everyone's needs and Pilates practice looks slightly different, so completing a certain number of classes does not automatically mean that Progressions is the best next step.
If you are unsure of the booking process, which class is right for you, please contact me directly so I can recommend a class that will suit you best or answer your questions.
For convenience classes are Pay as you go. No block bookings or memberships are required.
IMPORTANT BOOKING INFORMATION:
CANCELLATIONS:
I kindly ask that you provide at least 24 hrs notice if you need to cancel your booking. This gives another client the opportunity to book your place.
Cancellations made more than 24 hrs before your class will receive a class credit.
Class credits are valid for 60 days from the date of issue and will automatically expire if not redeemed within this period.
Cancellations made within 24 hrs of your class are considered a Late Cancellation and the full class fee will apply.
As classes are limited to just three participants, late cancellations or non-attendance often mean another client misses the opportunity to attend. Your consideration and understanding helps ensure everyone has a fair chance to book a place.
Bookings can be cancelled online by logging into your account.
BOOKING CHANGES:
If you need to move your booking to another available class, please contact me and I'll be happy to help where possible.
Please note that requests to change a booking within 24 hrs of your scheduled class are treated as a late cancellation, as the original space is unlikely to be filled at short notice.
INJURIES OR HEALTH CONDITIONS (past or present):
Please let me know before attending if you have any injuries, medical conditions or health concerns that may affect your participation.
GRIP SOCKS:
Grip socks are required for all classes for both hygiene and safety. If you don't already have a pair, they are available to purchase in the studio.
PREGNANCY & POSTNATAL:
Unfortunately, the classes are not suitable during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy or until you are at least 6 weeks postnatal (or longer if advised by your healthcare professional).
BEFORE YOUR CLASS:
You will receive an email before your class with everything you need to know, including studio information, what to bring and what to expect. Please take a moment to read this information before attending, and feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
